I joined Shell as an experienced hire in 2007, a Team Lead in Recruitment (specialist role) responsible for resourcing talents into the various career disciplines (Technical and Non- technical careers) and across different levels (Graduate Trainees and Professionals), in the Sub Saharan African region – Nigeria, Gabon and Cameroun. One key achievement on this role was successfully attracting talents with niche skills for the marine team which previously was a difficult to resource area.

As Group Head Human Resources, I defined the HR strategy to deliver the Bank’s overall vision and objectives aligning HR Practice to business operations and standardizing people management with global best practice. Was directly responsible for the HR team of more than 20 staff in various functions - Policy, Recruitment, Welfare, Capacity Development, Employee and Union Relations- to deliver professional, proactive, responsive and expert service to over 3000 employees, facilitating the creation of a high performance culture in line with Group’s strategic objectives.

As Head of Training, I was the Training budget holder, responsible for formulating the Training and Development strategy for the Bank, ensuring relevant interventions and activities were developed and deployed to address identified talent development needs that will help meet business goals and also achieve value for money.
